a trip to an oil rig

My dad works as a rig manager. Oh before that, for those who don't know what the hell is a rig, a rig is a platform in the middle of the ocean for people to dig deep underground in search for petroleum and gas. Get that? He's been years in this oil & gas industry, but i've never been to an oil rig until today! Soehannah, it's the name of the rig, my dad's friend's rig, not my dad's coz he's rig is in the middle of the sea while this rig is at the shore. Whatever it is it's still an oil rig. I went there with my family by boat. I was welcomed with a surprise on seeing how enormous that engineering masterpiece is! When i was onboard, i had to put on hard hats whenever on the rig floor. First of all, i had a briefing about the safety measures and punched my card eventhough i'm there for a couple of hours. Then we had a tour around the rig - the emergency boat, the helipad, the gym, the bedrooms, the control room and the drilling thingy which had a 14 lever system! After the tour, my family and i had dinner in the dining hall, or also called the galley. It's already night and off we go.
